feel like a loser

My last 4 days have been shite.

I made a mistake which triggered a cascade of negative events.

Each event worsened my mood, which then attracted further misfortune.

This cycle continued until I started to feel like a complete loser.

Perhaps this has happened to you…

Shitty things often happen in waves.

When enough of ‘em stack up, you start to question everything.

I just got rocked pretty hard so my perspective as a loser is fresh.

Good time to write an email.

If you are currently in the dumps, hopefully this helps you out.

Here’s the thing:

You can’t actually lose.

You either win or you learn. There is no other outcome.

When you’re down bad, this is hard to accept.

Seeing the bright side is nearly impossible when you’re depressed.

The mind gets so dark that light cannot penetrate.

In these moments, sometimes it’s best to just wait.

Don’t do anything. Accept that everything sucks.

Maybe you fall off your work and health routines.

That’s ok. Don’t feel guilty.

If you were a perfect angel you wouldn’t be here on earth.

Instead, pass the time with neutral activities.

Sleep, read, go on a walk, binge watch Netflix. Whatever.

Just avoid overly negative return activities (drugs, drinking, watching porn, eating terrible food, etc).

These will only put you deeper in the hole. I’ve been there of course.

All you need to do is wait it out without being self-destructive.

The mood will eventually pass.

When you start feeling better, you can then look for the lesson.

I like to keep a journal titled: “Lessons Learned The Hard Way”.

When I mess up badly I write it down so as to not repeat the mistake.

This also provides closure when you’re experiencing extreme regret.

Then, be thankful for the pain. It is the impetus for change.

Every painful experience contains the seed for a greater future.

Lastly, remember that feeling terrible lowers your expectations.

It hardens you. You sober up and get ready to work.

You don’t need results. You don’t need happiness.

You don’t need approval or compliments.

All you need is the work.

And then more work.

Then, you start to win again. 😉

See you next week.

Japan sets world record for the fastest internet speed ever. (It’s insanely fast.)

AI text-to-video is heating up! Runway’s Gen-3 Alpha now available to the public and it’s pretty insane.

Praying none of you American men got too drunk 4th of July and sent a DP.
