bye

for now

Well, I’m not going to write this newsletter anymore.

At least not every week. It will now be… every sometimes.

3 reasons:

1) I have run out of genuine insights

It’s taken me 16 months and 63 editions to share all my insights gathered over 29 years of life.

I’d be doing you a disservice by publishing mid-tier stuff just to stay consistent.

I only want to share top tier and I have quite simply run out.

2) My business isn’t growing as fast as I want it to

Reason 1) is a bit of a copout on its own. If I put in more time, I could maintain quality and consistency.

I just don’t want to. Instead, I’d rather redirect that energy into breaking through my current business plateau.

3) I want to master saxophone + DJ

I already play the sax and have been learning how to DJ over the last few weeks.

Holy shit this is a fun combination. I’m having the time of my life combining these two things together.

There are many great DJs and many great sax players, but not many who excel at both.

I want to do a deep dive on this and see where it takes me.

Naval Ravikant says the key to happiness is to choose your desires wisely.

Up until now, I’ve had three desires:

  1. Grow business

  2. Get better at music

  3. Grow newsletter

I thought three was the magic number but now I’m going to try two:

  1. Grow business

  2. Get better at music

  3. Grow newsletter

It takes me about 5 hours of focused effort each week to write this thing.

This is 315 hours over the next 16 months that I can redirect into desires 1 and 2. I should be able to do some good damage here.

Lastly and most importantly, thank YOU for subscribing and giving me some of your attention each week.

This has been a really fun project for me and I hope you had some fun too.

You’ll hear from me once I’ve generated sufficient life experience to justify another email.

Much love, and laters on the Menjay 🫡
