1st Event Recap
Last Saturday we introduced to the world a completely made-up word.
Entreflâneur. Rolls right off the tongue.
The idea itself isn’t completely new btw…
Think of it as a rebrand of “lifestyle design” - a term tainted by an explosion of gurus trying to sell you shit.
Tell a super-rich person you run a “lifestyle business”…
They will associate you with a lack of ambition, risk aversion, short-term focus, and limited impact.
“Digital nomad” is even worse. I picture broke transient freelancers in 3rd world countries trying to find wifi.
Entreflâneurs are built different. They go hard. They build big shit and have a ton of freedom to do as they please.
Living as an Entreflâneur isn’t a hedge against going “all in” with business.
It’s not an excuse to play small.
Rather, it’s a commitment to maximizing your production AND enjoyment.
Entreflâneurs embrace the polar opposites within themselves.
They like to fuck around and find out.
They get organized so they can enjoy periods where they relinquish all responsibility.
They can hang with hippies but also love money.
They can work in a room but also sit in quiet solitude.
They have hardened minds while remaining in tune with emotions.
Btw, girls love guys who maximize their opposites. It’s very sexy.
It’s also rare. By this nature, an Entreflâneur is difficult to “pin down” and pigeonhole into a stereotype.
They are enigmas in the best way possible.
I don’t know about you but I fucking love this idea!
It’s been bubbling up in my brain for years and was birthed on a hot Medellín Sunday after an all-night bender.

Our First Event
Just like an Entreflâneur, we wanted a party that embraced polar opposites.
A serious mastermind followed by total belligerence.
Raising money for charity followed by maximum self-enjoyment.
Dressing sharp followed by tattoos and shooting fireworks out of our hands.

It was “beautiful chaos” - a phrase I often use to describe my best nights.
Play-by-play of the event:
Inviting people
This part was relatively easy. Omer knows all the guys in town, and Darryl knows all the girls.
We started at a minimum $250 donation for the first 10 people to encourage early signups, then increased to $350.
We also always required that guys bring at least one girl to optimize the ratio.
… and I gotta say the ratio was optimized on this night.
Girls everywhere. I hope ya’ll got some ig’s and set up dates for this week.
Mastermind & Dinner

Went well. Tyler Denk and David Dubov have completely different businesses and are both geniuses in their own way.
If you haven’t signed up with Beehiiv, you can sign up here. I’m writing this from inside Beehiiv and I love it.
Mistakes we made so you don’t have to:
Speaker timing: We had a gap between speakers and had to improv to fill up the time. Thank you Icon for your quick thinking and professionalism.
Didn’t test the AV a day before: The TV had a blue tinge which was annoying but not catastrophic. Also didn’t have presentation clickers. Used my phone which was of course glitchy. These things are actually super useful to have. I’m ordering 3 from Amazon right now.
Could’ve had better drinks: It was hot and having cold, ready-to-go drinks was needed.
Dinner timing: Last course was late which extended the transition into party mode.
Although I enjoyed the mastermind, I was secretly waiting for the insane rager that would follow.
Afterparty
12:00am
70% of girls have arrived. Energy heating up quickly.
2:00am
Alex takes the mic and slurs out a completely nonsensical speech. Sam debates stopping him but finds it entertaining so doesn’t.
3:00am
Fire breathers begin. This was the most “interactive” fire show I’ve seen. Perhaps they just trust our group since we’ve hired them so many times.
4:00am
Alex takes the mic yet again and makes less sense than before. Dance floor is poppin.

5:00am
Many people leave but the after-after party has only begun.
I jump in the ice bath to give myself a second wind. This strategy works INSANELY well btw. It was a complete reset.
6:00am
A girl at the party gets Entreflâneur tattooed on the inside of her wrist.

I am shocked and humbled. Can’t change the logo now lol.
I tell her I will do everything in my power to make that tattoo more iconic by the day.
7:00am
Most peeps have left but we continue to rage on. Nini and I start to hump the stuffed animals.
8:00am
Our friend Faris rolls up with Dekko and his crew for the after-after party.
Me Faris & Sam jump in the ice bath for another reset. Faris is being a puss and won’t dunk in his head but eventually succumbs to peer pressure.
9:00am
Me, Sam, Iris, Dekko’s crew, and a few others are the last ones standing.
We bounce home and take this last elevator selfie before passing out.

Special thanks to Luigy & Lion for helping to remove the equipment from the house.
All-in-all, an incredible event that’s gonna be remembered for a while.
This event was step 3,4,5,6 in my patented 6-step process of Entreflâneuring.
Establish team
Establish base
Host events
Document & share
Connect people
Improve community
… and there was a LOT of documenting. Holy shit. We hired so many photographers I was tough to know which camera to look at.
Photos/videos are still being processes and will be posted in WA group soon.
There was a lot of connecting. I know some good contacts were made during the breakout groups and throughout the party.
Lastly, as mentioned, we raised $13,675 for Empower The Barrios.

Afterparty mistakes we made so you don’t have to:
More toilet paper. Make sure bathrooms are stocked to handle volume.
Donation leaderboard and trophy idea fell flat. Good idea but better execution was needed.
Better transportation to and from. Ubers were difficult to hail. Hire a few private drivers next time to take people home.
Needed more towels and warm clothing on hand. Whenever you throw a party in the hills, it will get cold. So bring warm stuff.
Also here are our financials below if you’re curious:

To finish, I gotta say a big thanks to YOU for bringing your energy to make this an incredible event.
This is just the beginning of what may become a worldwide sensation. Or a cult. Or it fizzles out into nothingness. Who knows.
All I know is I’m going to continue to do crazy shit and document it all in this newsletter for your enjoyment.
