start a YouTube channel

In this email, I will convince you to start a YouTube channel for your business.

Once you are helplessly convinced, I will bestow a method for consistently creating top-tier videos to populate your channel.

This will ultimately make you lots of money, increase your happiness, and get you laid more as well.

What a claim!

Let’s dive in…

First, let’s agree on how much of a powerhouse YouTube has become.

“YouTubers” were once dismissed as fringe weirdos of society…

Just a random dude makin’ vids

Now, they are printing money and becoming household names.

Besides YouTubers, there’s another group printing money with the platform.

No one’s talking about them.

They are the “Non-YouTubers” using YouTube to grow their businesses.

The regular business folk leveraging the platform to make a shite ton of sales.

That’s what this email is about - getting rich off YouTube without having to become an influencer.

First, you must realize that any business benefits from a YouTube channel.

In fact, the more you think it wouldn’t work for your business, the greater reason to make one.

This is because your competition is thinking the same thing and don’t have channels as a result.

Less channels in your space means more room to stand out and dominate.

You also don’t need a massive channel with millions of views to make money.

Quite the opposite. Look at my channel. I have a measly 1.74K subs yet it brings me new clients almost daily.

I get clients from my Youtube channel in 2 ways:

  1. Discovery

Youtube is the 2nd most popular search engine in the world, next to Google.

Every day, my potential clients make searches on how to grow their business.

My videos pop up. They watch the videos, book a call, and become a client.

The crazy part is I posted some of those videos 5 years ago.

That’s the beautiful thing about YouTube - the long-term benefits of posting.

You can spend one hour making a video today and continue to get paid for years.

This is why I'd rather make a YouTube video instead of dancing like a monkey on TikTok or IG reals.

  1. Supporting the sale

Daniel Priestley’s “7-Hour Rule” states that it takes about 7 hours of engagement to convert a lead into a customer.

The more of your content someone consumes, the more likely they will buy.

I’ve experienced this phenomenon many times.

When someone has already “been through my stuff”, it is extremely easy to close them.

It’s night and day. You're taking orders at that point.

This is why mega-influencers can sell powdered farts to their followers and make millions.

They’ve built up so much goodwill through their content that their fans will buy anything.

The good news is that you don't have to be Kylie Jenner to reap similar benefits.

You just gotta create some quality content for your niche.

This brings me to the second part. The part where you must make videos.

Yes, this is the hard part.

Yes, most people won’t do it.

Yes, this is why so few will get to harvest the sweet, succulent fruits of a successful YouTube channel.

The problem with making videos is it takes a lot of time and energy.

There’s no way around it.

You must script, shoot, edit, create the thumbnail, and post the videos.

You then must do it again. Every week (at least). In perpetuity. Until the end of time.

Inevitably, this effort takes you away from working on your business.

Most people aren’t removed from their business. This is why it’s so hard to create content consistently.

I’ve struggled with this a lot along with many other entrepreneurs.

Today, I come to you with a solution.

The key insight is this:

» Most content you create to serve existing customers also works to attract new customers.

Read that again.

Now let’s illustrate. Let’s say you own a dog training company.

Your clients would get better results if you created at-home dog training videos to supplement your in-person lessons.

Your life would also be easier since your clients would become more educated and engaged.

I would be stoked if my dog trainer did this. It would set them apart. I’d refer more friends to them.

Now, besides paying clients, who else could benefit from those videos?

» People on the internet who are interested in dog training.

That’s why you post those training videos meant for your clients on YouTube as well.

Now, your videos are helping existing clients AND attracting new ones.

No longer must you make the tradeoff between promoting your business and improving it.

It’s the same activity. Two birds with one stone. Efficiency at its finest.

It’s important not to be stingy with the content you give away for free.

In the words of Alex Hormozi: “Give away your secrets, and sell the implementation.

The best marketing is to help someone for free before they buy.

In the words of Frank Kern: “The best way to prove you can help someone is to help them.

Give away for free what people would expect to pay for.

This builds up a ton of goodwill and makes people buy.

The way you make the content good is by investing time.

You justify the time investment by making content for both customers AND prospects.

Hope this was helpful.

I would love to see some of my readers' YouTube channels.

If you have one, fire it over. I’ll make sure to subscribe ;)

Cool things I found during my weekly internet stroll.

Insane video of an an Apple microchip under a microscope. We’ve gotten really good at modifying sand and running electricity through it.

The meaning behind the names of Intel’s i3, i5, and i9 processors.

Zuck just introduced the Orion smart glasses concept. The man has fully adopted the loose-fit thick-knit T look.

Listen to Mozart’s newly-discovered piece: Serenade In C. Best comment: “Glad to say I was alive during a Mozart drop.😂 😂
