i love planes
here's why

Today, we have another mildly interesting email with mid to low utility.
Here we go...
I love flying on planes.
3 reasons:
You get to experience the modern miracle of human flight.
You can go anywhere in the world within hours.
You get uninterrupted time to think and plan at a high level.
LITERALLY, at a high level.
All my best scheming sessions have been on planes.
It makes total sense.
The higher you are, the higher your perspective.
If you take an edible beforehand, you can be double-high.
(I’ve never tried this but lmk if you have.)
High elevation makes life’s problems smaller.
They are so very distant, far far below…
The physical distance creates mental distance. It’s very freeing.
This is why upon reaching cruising altitude, you should slap on your noise-canceling muffs and LOCK IN.
Pull out your laptop and write a grand vision for your life.
Or, plan your next quarter in business.
Keep everything high-level and don’t connect to wifi.
You’ll focus better. It’s usually slow/unavailable anyways.
The whole process should get you fired up and excited about life.
Pair it with interstellar space focus music and it’s game over. (Youtube to mp3 to listen offline.)
Once you experience this, the default pastime of watching a movie becomes less attractive.
I still watch movies, but only after exhausting other options.
The order of activities goes:
High-level scheming and planning
Consuming interesting and inspiring stuff. (books, emails, podcasts, etc.)
(1 & 2 hit different when you're on a plane.)
Staring out the window
Sleeping
Watching movies
Flying on planes is a miracle and we should treat it as such.
Take advantage of the airtime and don’t complain.
If you’ve found yourself fussing about air travel, watch this clip. It's hilarious and true.
See you next week.

Cool things I found during my weekly internet stroll.
Demo of the world’s first proposed fully automated head transplant system. The sound effects in this video are wild.
Microplastics found in testicles of all males. This week I’m purging all kitchen plastic, including spoons, Tupperware, etc.
This 90-year-old man is the oldest dude to ever go to space!

When in doubt write it out.

… and the best type of action is a good workout. Works every time.

I love this image and caption.
