start an email list
here's why

Starting an email list is a very Entreflâneur thing you can do.
This is because Entreflâneurs are masters of doing more with less.
Writing emails is the ultimate do-more-with-less activity.
You 1) build an audience while 2) simultaneously hone your copywriting skills.
You cannot lose by getting good at copywriting.
You become a better writer, speaker, and thinker.
It upgrades your entire suite of communication.
That’s why if you have a business, you should 100% have an email list.
Here’s how to build one:
Step 1: Create A Landing Page With A Lead Magnet
A lead magnet is an ethical “bribe” you give away in exchange for someone joining your list.
Below is the landing page with lead magnet I use for my agency:

I drive virtually all the traffic from my marketing to this single page.
This is because I am lazy and like to keep things simple.
People opt-in, get access to the lead magnet, and join my email list.
On the next page, there is a video and a calendar to book a call.

Some people book a call, some don’t.
This brings us to…
Step 2: Create a 7-Day Drip Sequence
This is an automated sequence that “drips” out emails over the coming week.
The best type of content to include in these emails are:
Case studies & testimonials.
Links to your best Youtube videos.
Tips & insights that are valuable to your target market.
As a guide, you can access my 7-day drip sequence HERE.
Step 3: Write one email per week
Most people won’t buy your thing immediately OR after the 7 days.
They would, however, still like to hear from you.
So write one email every week and send it to your subscribers.
This is how you build a strong, long-term relationship with your list.
If you need some inspiration for what to write about, see this document.
Finally, if you’re looking for software to send out emails, I recommend beehiiv.
It’s the same software sending out this email and IMO the best email tool on the market.
Happy writing ✍️

Cool things I found during my weekly internet stroll.
Great interview with Pieter Levels on Lex Fridman. This guy is very much an Entreflâneuer and an expert in building hyper-profitable one-person businesses.
Snippet from Alex Hormozi’s Mozi Money Minute email:
Turning testimonials into ads is very profitable, but often, very tough. Main reason: people suck at making testimonials. After reviewing all the testimonials, and what separated the best from the rest - there was one thing the top 4 of all time had in common - a pain-based hook.
Top 4 all time:
1. We were two months away from shutting our doors…
2. We were barely making enough to survive…
3. I paid payroll, rent, and I’d finish the money with $0 profit…
4. I pay all my expenses every month, and work all day, only to end up with $0 profit…
So - next time you record a testimonial - don't ask them how life was before they started working with you. Ask them for their worst moment. Moments are what make the hooks. Details are what makes them powerful.
“Don't ask them how life was before they started working with you. Ask them for their worst moment.”
This is a super-powerful question shift.

Wild.
